Wallahs Academy, Ho, making their first Senior Sharks appearance are through to the next stage of Senior Sharks 7.

In their debut Senior Sharks showing, Wallahs Academy took on fellow debutants St. Catherine Girls SHS, Agbakofe, at the Round One stage. The two private schools, academically acclaimed in their own rights, were aiming to outmaneuver each other.

It was St. Catherine who started on a very bright note, earning a score in the Right Corner Round that most schools will be envious of.

The expectation was that St. Catherine were going to maintain this stellar performance from Round One or better it in the subsequent rounds, but it didn’t happen.

Wallahs Academy had other ideas in mind, as they picked up the pieces from Round One and gave St. Catherine a hot chase. By their unwavering determination, Wallahs Academy steadily overtook St. Catherine SHS to chalk a win that will not be forgotten anytime soon.

Right Corner Round

St. Catherine (Scasco) first faced quizmaster on their general knowledge skills, and they left the round without reproach. They had fifty (50) colossal points in this round, a rare feat by most debutants in Senior Sharks 7.

Wallahs Academy took up the mantle straightaway but their General Knowledge level was below par. They could only earn ten (10) points.

R Cubed Corner

Substitutions by both teams were done in a bid to enhance their chances in this contest.

Wallahs Academy and St. Catherine SHS neutralized each other in the Reading and Writing segment.

But in the Arithmetic, Wallahs Academy decided to play it safe while St. Catherine believed in themselves enough to buzz for two questions. But they were wrong, and those decisions would later prove costly. That was the only activity recorded.

At the end of the round, Wallahs Academy had five (5) points and St. Catherine SHS had minus ten (-10) points.

STEM Round

St. Catherine threw the first shot of the round and missed the target. With open arms, Wallahs took the chance and hit the target.

Wallahs was on top and very conspicuous in this round, with St. Catherine unrecognizable.

At the end of the Round, St. Catherine SHS had a minus score of five (-5) while Wallahs Academy had twenty-five (25) points.

One-on-one Round

Unfortunately, however, whichever superlatives: Sharks, experts, specialists, whizzes, nerds, et cetera, et cetera, that they are given, none made any productive contribution.

No points to either school at the end of the One-on-one Round. Manuella, Joan, Emilia, and Wilhemina lined up for St. Catherine SHS. Wallahs Academy had Kamila, Selorm, Thywill and Brian.

The G-Money reward for a correct answer was thus carried over to the next contest. At the end of the contest, St. Catherine SHS had thirty-five (35) points while Wallahs Academy had fifty (50) points.

Wallahs Academy, if it is to be said frankly, got away with this win. In their next contest they will have to be extra alert from Round One to Round Four to ensure progression in this competition.
