Isaac Julius Asiedu-Gyekye is the Acting Dean of the School of Pharmacy, University of Ghana[/caption] The School of Pharmacy of the University of Ghana has pledged its commitment to train world-class practitioners given the role they play in healthcare delivery in the country. It therefore called on alumni and, indeed, all pharmacists “to make the healthcare of their patients their topmost priority”. This assurance was given on Monday, September 25 as the world marked World Pharmacists Day. “The pharmacist plays an important role in various aspects of healthcare delivery including education on rational use of drugs, drug use in pregnancy, management of chronic diseases, counseling of HIV, tuberculosis, and cancer patients, amongst others.” The School has also urged the public not to hesitate in consulting the pharmacist on any drug-related issue.
