Parents and guardians who have children in Senior High Schools in the Western Region have been urged to be calm over the reported cases of the coronavirus (Covid-19) in some schools. The Takoradi Metropolitan Directorate of Education, Elizabeth Akuako, explained that even though there have been reported cases in some eight schools, the situation is under control as the suspected students have been quarantined and the safety protocols are being followed to the letter. Reacting to the anxiety among parents following the news, Madam Elizabeth said “parents should be calm. We have all the Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) for the safety of the children”. She explained on Onua TV’s Covid-19 Nkomo on Monday that “we are following all the precautionary measures and it’s not about the children but also the staff of the schools as well”.
