Barring any unforeseen circumstance, angry staff of the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) whose salaries have not been paid for almost a year now would receive their accumulated salaries by close of April.

Available to Onua TV and Onua FM indicates that funds have been released for the payment of the salaries and it is expected to hit individual accounts anytime soon.

It would be recalled that Onua TV and Onua FM carried reports on the matter and was also published on 3news.com.

The angry workers had demanded the immediate removal of the caretaker minister and the Chief Director of the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection over the non-payment of their salaries.

The Management of the GSFP reacted to the series of stories by Onua TV/Onua FM and 3news.com on aggrieved staff and admitted that the salaries of the workers were delayed as reported but assured that efforts were being made to address the issue.

A statement on Thursday, March 31 said “we admit that salaries of staff of the Programme have been delayed for some months now, and management in consultation with our supervising ministry is taking the necessary steps to address the issue”.

But fresh information available to 3news.com indicates that salaries have been paid to the workers and would soon hit their counts.
