The Forestry Commission Training Centre (FCTC) has announced admission into its 18-month Certificate course in Natural Resources Management.

The Director of the Training Centre, Dr Andy Osei Okrah, in a press statement issued and signed at Akyawkrom, near Kumasi, the location of the centre, said admission was opened to both local and foreign applicants for an intensive, cutting-edge 18 months certificate programme in natural resources management.

“The FCTC, which is affiliated with the University of Energy and Natural Resources in Sunyani, is keen on equipping the youth with employable skills for revenue generation while protecting the environment and its resources for generations unborn,” declared Andy Osei Okrah.

The statement said graduates would qualify variously as field technicians in natural resources management, range supervisors or natural resource supervisors, be self-employed as “forestpreneurs” or work as forest operations supervisor in plantation development firms in the private sector.

The one-and-half year-long full-time programme, which commences on Monday, April 15, is broken into three semesters and is scheduled for completion on September 12, 2025.

Director Osei Okrah encouraged prospective students to download application forms from the website of the Commission at www.fctc.fcghana.org, and complete and submit the admission form on or before Thursday, March 28.

Admission, he explained, is open to holders of SSCE and Advanced Level certificate holders.

“We’re keen on carrying along a substantial population of the unemployed youth, hence the extension of this opportunity to mature students who are twenty-five years and above,” he said.

The Forestry Commission Training Centre is a public training institution under the Forestry Commission of Ghana, mandated to among others, train talents to protect and secure the ecology, for the sustenance of life.
