Eugene Kofi Amankwaa to offer scholarships to the poor to study abroad

Some needy but brilliant Senior High School graduates in Obuasi and its environs have been presented with an opportunity to study under scholarship abroad.

The Chief Executive officer for Eugenmat Travel and Consult, Obuasi, Eugene Kofi Amankwaa, said the company has rolled out a programme dubbed ‘Eugemat brilliant but needy sponsorship program’ which is offering students aged between 19 to 24, 100 percent scholarships valued at $25,000 to study in Canada every year.

Explaining further, Mr. Amankwaa told the media in Obuasi that the package, which will be given to students who scored between 5A1 to 8A1 in their WASSCE, will include birth certificate, passport, visa acquisition, plane ticket, fully paid school fees and stipends for the beneficiary.

He intimated “the programme will run for a period of time with applicants thoroughly screened to make sure we get the right person for this scholarship”.

The CEO of Eugenmat Travel and Consult said the purpose of the programme is to fight poverty and give back to the society for their support for the past 6 years since its establishment.

He said they cannot be sleeping on their resources whiles they can provide opportunities for the youth to develop their potential as the future of the country.

“We believe that the beneficiaries of this scholarship scheme will have a good opportunity abroad which will also translate into opportunities for their families.”

The screening for the beneficiary of the scholarship scheme will start on Monday, July 24.

So far, about 30 applicants have applied for the opportunity.
