Achimota School hosts maiden High School French Tour by ON Y VA!

On 13th October, 2023, ON Y VA! organized the maiden edition of its High School French Tour at the Old Assembly Hall of the Achimota Senior High School, with the French Embassy in Ghana as the main sponsor.

All the French students of the Achimota Senior High School participated in the tour.

The dignitaries present included the Country Director of Amnesty International, Ghana, Ms. Genevieve Partington, the winner of Miss Universe Ghana 2022, Ms. Engracia Mofuman, Mr. Gilles Ametepe, French Communications Manager, Djembe Consultants and Ms. Nolwenn Luquet, the head of Campus France Ghana.

Mr. Michael Kouani Dogor was the MC for the event, which started at 10:30am with an opening prayer from Ms. Priscilla Yayra Ewoade.

Then, Mr Dogor acknowledged the presence of the dignitaries and the Assistant Headmaster of Achimota Senior High School gave a welcome address afterwards.

The C.E.O. of ON Y VA, Seth Kwame Appiah-Kubi ,also announced the purpose of the High School French Tour.

There was a tongue twister contest among 7 students though only 2 qualified for the next round. Emmanuel ended up winning the contest and was presented with a prize .

Ms. Genevieve Partington delivered a speech after the tongue twister contest.

In her speech, she emphasized the importance of studying French.

Mr. Gilles Ametepe also told the students about the advantages of studying French.

There was a captivating dance performance by the students of Achimota Senior High School and this earned them a prize from Mr. Gilles Ametepe.

The dance performance was followed by an enchanting musical performance of ‘My heart will go in’ by Celine Dion in French.

The three students who performed the song also earned a prize from Ms. Genevieve Partington.

Then, the C.E.O. of ON Y VA presented the French Club of Achimota Senior High School with pen drives containing French songs.

Ms. Nolwenn Luquet was called upon to talk about the activities of the organization.

There was a dance competition among 7 students and Samuel was crowned the winner.

Ms. Engracia Mofuman delivered her speech after the dance competition.

In her speech, she advised students to focus on their studies and achieve their highest potential.

The outgone executives of the Achimota Senior High School presented prizes to their patron and the new executives.

ON Y VA also presented the French club with a gift to serve as a motivation.

The event ended with a photoshoot session of the students, the French club patron, the dignitaries and the members of ON Y VA. High School French Tour, encore et toujours le français.
