Imagine spending several hours in a classroom yet having to struggle to understand what is being taught because of language barrier.

That’s the dilemma of pupils of Senafu Kofe Basic School on the island in the Kwahu Afram Plains North District of the Eastern Region.

Their teacher who was posted there five years ago, still cannot interpret and explain basic concepts to them using the language predominantly spoken there.

In the second story of this series assessing the impact of education reforms, Yvonne Neequaye Agyapong and Komla Adom went to meet one of two teachers who have accepted to teach in a district in spite of the numerous pitfalls.
