The Presidential Candidate of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Brigitte Dzogbenuku, has courted the youth to take up leadership positions.

She expressed worry over how high-ranked public positions occupied by the aged with little space allocated to the youth, who she believes are capable in strength and ideas.

Madam Dzogbenuku admonished the youth to get involved in nation building as she explains the affairs of the country is for the youth to spearhead not the other way round.

Speaking on Akoma FM‘s morning show GhanAkoma in an exclusive interview with Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin on Thursday, November 26, the former Miss Ghana cited how “the first president of this country, President Dr. Kwame Nkrumah became president in his 40s, hence we the youth must not wait and grow old before we decide to take over helm of affairs”.

The PPP Presidential Candidate wondered why the country must be given to a president who is over 80 years.

Madam Dzogbenuku added that “such old politicians are fond of the old style of governance which has not been helpful over the years.”

She explained that “governments throughout the world are relatively led by youthful leaders who are full of ideas and life.”

She encouraged the electorate to vote PPP into power because the party is made of youthful leaders with vision and full of life.

They have the abilities to take this country to the next level in terms of development and policies that chart social interventions, she stressed.

Brigitte Dzogbenuku for the first time in 2020 has been touring the Ashanti Region as part of her nationwide tour in the run-up to next month’s general elections.

She is expected to storm the Bono Region net as she rounds up her two-day tour of the Ashanti Region.
