Police arrest nine persons for false claim of missing genitals

The Ghana Police Service has announced its arrest of some nine persons for false claim of missing genitals.

The Police in its statement said the false reports by these persons has led to fear and panic among innocent citizens, hence their arrests.

“Police investigations including medical examinations disclosed that all the claims are false,” the statement noted.

In the past few weeks, reports about missing genitals have been rife across the country, particularly in the Kasoa enclave in the Central Region.

Among the persons arrested; six were from Kasoa, two from Ashaiman in Accra and another from Nkawkaw in the Eastern region.

Police say it has arraigned five of the arrested persons before court whiles three has been remanded into custody and two granted bail.

The statement added that others are on police inquiry bail and would soon be arraigned before court.
