An Accra High Court has dismissed the injunction application filed by 14 judges and magistrates to stop the 5 member committee set up by the Chief Justice to look into Anas’ video on judicial corruption.

According to the court presided over by Justice Gertrude Torkornoo, the application had no basis and cannot be held against the committee. She also indicated that the substantive case is yet to be heard hence her decision to dismiss the application so the case can be dealt with.

The 14 judges were praying the court to declare the 5 member panel set up by the Chief Justice to look into the judicial scandal as unconstitutional and without the competent jurisdiction to prosecute them.

In all 22 judges have been suspended pending trial. 14 of them are challenging the legality or otherwise of the panel set up by the Chief Justice to investigate and fined out whether a prima facie case can be made against the jusges.
