There were confrontations at the venue, our reporter said[/caption] There was confusion at the Ghana International Press Center in Accra, following the disruption of a press conference organised by pro-National Democratic Congress (NDC) group Action Movement. The group was addressing the press over possible causes of the party’s disappointing performance in the December 7, 2016 elections. Leader Kodzo Hamenya had accused the the National Executive Council and erstwhile leader, John Dramani Mahama, of disrespecting the grassroots, a possible cause of the one-touch defeat. Before finishing his warning to the former president against contesting in 2020, TV3‘s Godfred Tanam reports, a dissentient in the audience ordered him to stop trading accusations. Hamenya’s group was also blamed for the defeat of the party. This disrupted the news conference, resulting in confrontations between members of the group and the intruders, Godfred Tanam reported. Calm was restored but the group could not continue the presser. Source: 3news.com|Ghana ]]>
