AshantiGold goalkeeper’s trainer Isaac Amoako has said his side can’t afford a slip when they host Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the Ashanti derby in week 11 of the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

The Miners will play host to the Porcupine Warriors at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Both clubs will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways after falling in their week 10 games – Kotoko lost 1-0 to Aduana Stars at home and AshantiGold SC were handed their biggest defeat of the season by Legon Cities when they thrashed them 5-2 last weekend.

Speaking to Kumasi-based Akoma FM, the former goalkeeper of Asante Kokoto said the Obuasi-based club cannot afford to drop the three points at home.

“We are winning at all cost against Kokoto, we can’t afford to drop points after losing embarrassingly to Legon Cities.

“I am a professional, I get my daily bread from Ashantigold and so my focus is to ensure that Ashgold win handsomely against Kotoko.

“It will be a difficult game but nothing will stop us from winning the three maximum points,” he said.

Isaac Amoako featured for Ashantigold in 2005 before signing for Asante Kotoko, where he spent eleven seasons.
