The Chief Executive Officer of the Skones Group of Companies, Alhaji Iddi Sumaila, says serving the country with integrity is an integral part of society.

For this reason, he has entreated the Ghana Armed Forces to maintain high level of honesty as it has always done.

He made the remarks at the induction religious parade for Senior Commanders and Staff Course 45 held at the Hamidu Hall in Burma Camp.

Ninety eight (98) students drawn from Ghana and 16 other allied African countries will undergo training for the next 11 months in middle level military duties, communication skills and leadership at the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College(GAFCSC).

They will also pursue Master of Science Programme in Defence and International Politics.

The participating officers comprise mainly Majors and Lieutenant Colonels.

The induction parade, a non-denominational programme, was to conscientise the students to be guided by morals and high integrity.

The programme was attended by the Commandant of the College, Major General Irvine Nii-Ayitey Aryeetey, the Deputy Commandant, Brigadier General Abass Seidu, the Dean of Academic Affairs, Dr Vladimir Antwi Danso, Senior Officers from the General and Service Headquarters as well as some Defence Advisors from the various Missions with students on the course. Family members of the students were also in attendance.

Speaking on the theme: ‘Integrity in the acquisition of Knowledge’, Guest of Honour Alhaji Iddi Sumaila charged the students to live up to expectations by eschewing all forms of negative tendencies and maintain high moral standards in their chosen field.

“I know that as Senior Officers you are all aware that the profession you have chosen thrives on honesty, integrity and exceptional performance among other qualities. During this course you will be required to sharpen these attributes and I therefore urge you to develop and grow in your chosen career,” he stressed.

“Integrity is doing good; sharing the little you have with the most deprived around you and and you will never succeed until what you love for yourself, you love for your brother and that is what has sustained me in the 22 years of my business,” he emphasised.

Alhaji Iddi Sumaila was also honoured by the Commandant for his exceptional leadership in the field of security and entrepreneurship.
