President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has wished all candidates of this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) a successful examination.

He cautioned them to desist from all forms of examination malpractices and complete the papers successfully.

“I send best wishes to all 600,714 students sitting this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination, which begun today. I urge all students not to engage in any acts of examination malpractice, complete their exams successfully, and move on to the next stage of their education, senior high school, which is free,” the President tweeted.

The exams for junior high school final-year students started on Monday, August 7 with over 600,000 of them writing Religious and Moral Education (RME) and English Language on Day 1.

About 2,137 centers have been designated for the school exams and 15 centers – mainly the regional capitals – for the private exams.
