The four kingmakers of Okuapeman who were arrested for flouting the ban on social gathering by enstooling a chief have been fined a total of GHؓ¢48,000.

The court says the four who are part of kingmakers failed to comply with restrictions imposed in the President’s Executive Instrument 64 and violated the Impositions of Restrictions Act, 2020, Act 1012.

The four accused admitted guilty and prayed the court to give them a minimum sentence instead of a prison sentence.

The court considered their age and the unity of Okuapeman before passing judgment.

The kingmakers a week ago performed a ritual ceremony to install a new king following a verdict by the Eastern Regional Judiciary Committee.

The ceremony attracted hundreds of residents to Akropong.
