Incumbent Member of Parliament for Ahafo Ano North Constituency Richard Akuoko Adiyiah has filed an injucntion against results from the Constituency after he cited anomalies at some polling stations.

He lost to the National Democratic Congress’ Kwasi Adusei though his party’s presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo, won the presidential race in what is popularly referred to as ‘skirt and blouse’.

MP Adiyiah polled 18,418 votes which is 423 votes less than what the NDC candidate polled.

The NPP candidate says the Ashanti Regional Electoral Commission has given him up to Monday for a verdict to be passed on the issue.

Meanwhile, Samuel Tettey, Regional EC Chairman, says there is nothing the Commission can do about the situation since the MP’s agent at the Regional Collation Center did not call for re-collation after all the results were collated.

Speaking to TV 3’s Matilda Haynes, Mr Tettey says the only option left for Mr Adiyiah is to “go to court.”
