Suspended Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Paul Awentami Afoko has condemned Monday dawn’s raid of the party’s head office.

He has, therefore, called on the security agencies to investigate the incident “and get to the bottom of the matter”.

Unknown men in military uniform reportedly burgled the party’s office on Monday, locking up security officers and making away with a few items.

Coincidentally, the party’s parliamentary candidate for Klottey Korle Constituency, Nii Noi Nortey, was also attacked at his residence.

“Mr. Afoko condemns in no uncertain terms these incidents and describes same as dents on the party’s image,” a statement by his spokesperson, Nana Yaw Osei, on Monday said.

Mr Afoko is said to have described the incident as “distasteful” especially at a time Mr Afoko “is challenging the constitutional breaches some party members have persistently engaged in”.

“The security agencies must thoroughly investigate these incidents and get to the bottom of the matter,” Mr Afoko demanded.

The police have since arrested 11 persons in connection with the crime.
