ACP Benjamin Agordzo who is standing trial for an alleged coup plot has finally been released from police custody. The senior police officer was still kept in an “apartment” within the Ghana Police Service headquarters despite a bail application granted by an Accra High Court last Tuesday. According to reports, the state had filed an appeal against his bail, hence the reason he was still in custody. His brother, Cephas, had fumed over the continuous stay of ACP Agordzo in police custody despite the bail secured by his lawyers, accusing some elements within the Service of being behind the trial. “Now we know it is Ghana Police CID who are doing the whole thing,”he said on TV3‘s News 360 on Wednesday, January 22. The Director of Police Transformational Programme signed his bail conditions on Thursday and was escorted out of custody. He is expected to report to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) twice a week for three months and once a week afterwards. Source: 3news.com|Ghana  ]]>
