The French Ambassador to Ghana, Francois Pujolas said,  “Ghana’s private sector would be more attractive to both local and foreign investors when the public sector becomes more accountable.” The Government of France is introducing performance contracts in collaboration with the State Enterprises Commission (SEC) and the Public Sector Reform Secretariat. The project forms part of the Subvented Agencies Reform Programme, and seeks to introduce Institutional Performance Contracting regime in some selected subvented agencies. The agencies to be engaged include Ghana Standards Authority, National Accreditation Board, Sunyani Technical University, Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), the Environmental Protection Agency  (EPA) and the Energy Commission. “We have tried along the years to bring on board the French expertise, in terms of effectively running the public sector, with particular focus on accountability. “This programme would see skilled trainers from France sharing best practices in public sector management with Ghanaian public agencies,” Ambassador Francois Pujolas added. France and Ghana are seeking further engagement in political dialogue and security, culture, and economic growth. By Natalie Fort |TV3|3news.com]]>
