Six died instantly on the spot and two later at the hospital[/caption] Eight persons have crashed to death in a road accident at Tuobodom in the Bono East Region. Six died on the spot while two others were pronounced dead at the Holy Family Hospital at Techiman. A Mercedes Benz cargo truck registered AS 9554-G, which was from Techiman towards Kintampo was said to have lost control and fell on the opposite lane, causing an oncoming fully loaded taxi to crash into it at about 2:30 p.m. Friday. Driver of the Kia Sephia taxi registered BA 1356-P, was said to have tried to prevent a collision but was unsuccessful. Occupants of both vehicles – three in the truck and five in the taxi – got stuck in the vehicles and it took the intervention of the Ghana National Fire Service to remove their bodies from the vehicles. Seven of them have been identified by the police as Yaw Offin, 45; Osei Kwame, 50; Philip Opoku Fofie, 26; Kwame Mensah, 26; Barikisu Alhassan, 35; Afia Pomaa, 25 and Kwadwo Sega, 50.
