File photo[/caption] Three suspected armed robbers have been arrested in the Eastern Region with one locally manufactured pistol and six live cartridges. Amadu Hamidu, 45 years; Tahiru Gariba, 33 and Omaru Teta, 25 were arrested Friday afternoon by the Operation Cow Leg team. Two others managed to escape. They have since been handed to the Mpraeso Police for investigations and prosecution. A police report said lieutenant Bright Baah Asante in charge of the Operation Cow Leg team at Abetifi was on duty at Sambour Police barrier area when they “spotted the three together with two others at large, in moves suspected to be in preparation towards the commission of crime”. They moved in quickly and managed to arrest the three suspects. “A search conducted on them disclosed one serviceable locally made pistol plus six live cartridges.
