At least 20 residents of Tiabo in the Adoagyir District of the Eastern Region have rushed to the Nsawam Government Hospital after an explosion at a quarry site on Wednesday.
The situation has led to chaos as residents flee the town for fear of aftershocks, our reporter says.
TV3’s Ayerkie Nanor reported on News 360 that the explosion occurred between 3:00pm and 5:00pm.
The cause is not yet known as residents say the site has been abandoned for some time now but are sure the disaster aym have been triggered by some dynamites in some large containers left at the site.
Two out of the eight containers exploded on Wednesday, our reporter indicated, while four caught fire.
The police are said to be at the site but an SOS has been sent to the military for quick evacuation operations.
