One of the cars was seriously damaged[/caption] A late Saturday evening accident involving two private Mercedes Benz saloon cars at Aburi junction in the Eastern Region has left three persons with severe injuries. The car registered GT 2603-U, which was moving from the Aburi township to join the main road towards Akropong crashed head on with the other car registered GE 8299 -13 that was also moving towards Accra. A woman, possibly in her late 40s who was in the car driving towards Accra and was returning from funeral, was seen holding her abdomen in anguish as she cried for help, our correspondent Bright Addo who witnessed the accident reported. Our correspondent reported that the car, which was already on the main road, was speeding hence could not avoid the other car from Aaburi township as it joined the main road, leading to the crash. “The other Benz car which came through from the Aburi township and was driving towards Akropong attempted to enter the main road but lack eluded him and he had a head on collision with the oncoming vehicle which was driving on top speed on the main road,” he Bright reported.All three victims of the accident were immediately helped out of the cars and rushed to the Tetteh Quarshie Hospital at Mampong for medical care.
