Reports from the Kwame Nkrumah circle, specifically the Odaw river is full to the brim with many traders and pedestrians finding shelter anywhere possible.
In what some describe as a ‘scary twist’, all persons around the former Goil filing station at the Nkrumah circle where a twin disaster occurred, have taken cover on the newly constructed overhead bridge.
It is unsure what these persons are afraid of but they have left their shops and houses for fear of their lives. Teshie, Labadi Alajo and some flood prone areas in the capital have all reported flooding following the two hours of downpour.
On June 3, 2015, Ghana lost over 150 of its citizens to a twin disaster (flood and fire) when several hours of rainfall flooded the city and seeped into the underground petrol tank of the Goil filling station.
The flood waters, mixed with petrol spread wide and upon meeting a naked fire, traced its roots to the tanker at the filling station leading to an explosion which killed several people taking shelter at the filling station.
