A total of 17 Ghanaians have submitted their nomination forms to the Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC) to contest the December 7 presidential elections.

This was made known by the Chair of the EC, Jean Mensa, after close of nominations on Friday, October 9.

All the presidential aspirants paid the GH¢100,000 filing fee despite initial protests from some of them when it was announced on Monday, September 14 by Mrs Mensa.

The forms will, however, be reviewed by a committee, the EC Chair said, and a report made available on Monday, October 12 after which the official presidential candidates for the elections will be known.

They will, then, ballot for their positions.
