Polio vaccination begins in Accra

The Ghana Health Service together with its partners have officially launched the polio vaccination campaign in Accra. This is to intensify efforts by the key stakeholders in dealing with the cases of type 2 polio virus. The vaccination exercise targets children under five years. There will be initial two rounds of house to house vaccinations in Accra. The first round begins from September 11 to 14, and the second round from September 25 to 28. A statement issued by the Ghana Health Service urged people to report to the nearest health facility with any sudden paralysis in children under 15 years within 24 hours.
