Healthplus Africa Care conducts health education, screening at La-Nkwantan Madina Municipality

As part of efforts to reduce premature mortality (death) and morbidity (illness) by one third by 2030 and contribute to the success of achieving Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3.4), especially among the working class in Ghana, HEALTHPLUS AFRICA CARE, carried-out two-days health sensitization and screening session on Hypertension, Diabetes and Strokes for commercial drivers and other workers within the La-Nkwantana Madina Municipality.

Research data available at Ghana Health Service, Center for Disease Control (CDC-Ghana) and all relevant institutions indicate that Stroke is currently the number two (2) cause of death, while Diabetes, Hypertension and dyslipidemia are among the first ten (10) causes.

It is worth noting that diabetes and hypertension are also significant contributors to the escalating kidney diseases in the Ghanaian populace.

Speaking at the launch of the sensitization program,the Executive Director of the NGO,Mr. Prince Ishmael Dimah encouraged all residents of the Madina municipality to take interest in their health and go for check ups occasionally.

He mentioned that, the recent increase in deaths and hospital attendance as a result of these diseases,is alarming and cautioned the public to take charge of their health.
