Ghana’s total coronavirus cases are inching to 30,000 following 683 new cases confirmed by the Disease Surveillance Department of the Ghana Health Service (GHS).
The new infections have shot the cumulative cases to 29,672 from 28,989.
Recoveries-cum-discharges have also increased, from 25,331 to 26,090, which portends a good omen for the fight against the virus, coupled with the remainder of deaths at 153.
This has seen a further reduction in the number of active cases as well, from 3,505 to 3,429.
Out of this number, 25 are in “severe” conditions and six are in “critical” conditions with three on ventilators.
The country’s positivity rate stands at 8.31 per cent after a total of 357,220 tests, conducted since the outbreak of the disease in March.
