Ghana National Gas Company has inspected ongoing projects constructed by the company in the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency in Accra.

The Gas Company’s inspection team is embarking on this to ascertain the progress of work so far.

The inspection team first visited the Ghana James Camp Prisons at Airport West, where a fully standardized astro-turf is being constructed.

According to the Wembley Sports Complex contractor, Robert Coleman, the project is about 80-85% completed.

When completed, the project will have a fencing, floodlights, pitch, car park and others.

“We have laid all the pipes under the park that will drain all the water and prevent it from flooding when it rains.

“We are about to have the final levelling of the park,” he revealed.

The James Camp Prisons was built in 1948 and have since not witnessed a standardized astro-turf until the new one which is under construction by Ghana Gas.

The project will be completed within two months.

At Okaikoi South Municipal Assembly, the team inspected an 11-aside astro-turf that is 90% complete.

The contractor revealed that they are left with some few touches to finish as they will be doing the final levelling of the place with a sealed sand before laying of the carpet. When complete, it will have floodlights, fence, a school playing ground and a pitch.

The floodlights have been fixed and awaiting commissioning next month.

The sub-metro director, Samuel T. Mormor, assured Ghana Gas of their commitment and involvement to ensure the project in their district becomes a success.

At Legon, Ghana Gas is building an international standard hockey pitch that can host both African and world games.

When completed, the project will have floodlights, energy farms that will pump the lights, changing rooms, fencing, pitch and others.

The contractor revealed that the project, which was started in January, is steadily progressing and will soon be completed for commissioning.

The drainage system, levelling, and all the pipes have already been laid.

The team visited Legon, the University Staff Village School, where Ghana Gas is putting up a 6-unit classroom block for the lower primary school.

Tatraco Company Limited yß6dd is bid to complete the project in the six month as the stipulated time scheduled.
