The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has issued an alert to residents within the metropolis to adhere to all the safety protocols of Covid-19 as a matter of urgency.
According to a press release issued on Monday, July 19, the Covid cases within the metropolis have been on an upsurge.
It said the new Delta variant was even detected “soon after the Christmas Festivities in December, 2020”.
“The upsurge of the new cases in the Metropolis have been mainly attributed to the general disregard for the Covid-19 safety protocols, funerals, parties, and other social gatherings,” the statement said.
