A Catholic priest has accomplished a mission to undertake a solo walk to create awareness on Covid-19 and raise funds for the vulnerable.

From 4:00am Friday dawn, Very Reverend Father Bright Kennedy Agyepong took a solo walk from Somanya to Koforidua.

His solo walk from Somanya to Koforidua took him eight hours on the 50-kilometre road.

The historic walk by the Catholic priest and Head of Bright Inspirations was also to raise funds for some health facilities.

At the end of the walk in Koforidua, the Vicar General of the Catholic Diocese of Koforidua, Rev. Monsignor Francis Twum Barimah, commended Fr. Bright for the exercise.

“You used eight hours walking from Somanya to Koforidua. You have chalked a feat, well done.”

The Vicar General added: “Your walk has created more awareness about the existence of Covid-19 per your interaction with residents along the stretch where you walked for eight hours.

“In Covid-19 each and every one of us has a role to play. We need  to put our individual efforts together.”

Very Rev. Fr. Agyepong thanked Monsignor Twum Barimah for the support and excitedly said: “I am very happy that God gave me this opportunity to create the awareness and also to champion the cause to raise funds for the vulnerable”.

“It’s been wonderful. If anyone tells you that your dream is impossible respond with the fire within you and say ‘It is rather inevitable’.”

For residents who caught a glimpse of the Catholic priest on his walk, “he dared and accomplished it”.
