Patrons of the third edition of Akoma FM health walk held on Saturday, February 10, are clamoring for frequent organisation of such activity to help them maintain good health.

The 3-hour walk attracted massive crowd as most participants had to take advantage of the event to burn some calories.

The annual event started at the forecourt of Akoma FM at Asokwa through Ahodwo roundabout to Adum Harper Road, then to Asafo Interchange to Labour Roundabout.

It continued to Amakom Traffic Light to Children’s Park, Stadium Main Road
and ended at Asokwa Astro Turf.

Both the young and old, students, security services, corporate institutions and individuals maintained their pace amidst ‘jama’ and brass band music throughout the walk.

The aerobics session was handled by personnel from the Ghana Armed Forces and Ghana Prisons Service.

“The numbers are overwhelming. It’s a good signal for Akoma FM. It shows that so many people want to associate themselves with the Akoma brand and we shall continue to serve in the best interest of our listeners”, General Manageress of Akoma FM, Faustina Dery observed.

For most participants, what transpired during the 4-hour event did not fall short of their expectations.

“The walk has been interesting and impressive. We did not only exercise but entertained ourselves”, Charles Mensah from Kumasi Technical Institute Cadet Corps noted.

“I would wish Akoma FM organises such event on monthly basis because most of us use this opportunity to keep ourselves fit”, a participant, Asante Joseph, suggested.

Events and Promotions coordinator for Akoma FM, Seth Oppong Danquah said “we are looking at increasing our reach next year and possibly try and organize the walk on quarterly basis.”
