The Sekondi-Takoradi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (STCCI) has launched a digital platform to boost digital trading.

The digital platform, www.chambersmarket.com, known as the Chamber Market and developed by the STCCI, comes with an app for both users on the I-system and Android system.

The platform enables users to own a virtual store, operate and promote business at convenience while shedding off risks in managing a physical store/business.

The Chamber Market can also be described as a digital directorate where it gives detailed description of what a listed business is about, its products and/or services offered.

At a ceremony to launch the e-business platform in Takoradi, Western Region Minister Kobby Okyere Darko-Mensah applauded the Sekondi-Takoradi Chamber of Commerce and Industry for creating an online business platform to engender the growth and development of businesses whether small, medium or large scale.

“I have always believed that the people of Sekondi-Takoradi have great minds and solutions to drive our ‘Enterprise Growth Pole’ I have always been preaching on since I became a regional minister; this is another made in Tadi and comparable to Alibaba in business,” he boasted.

He explained that the quest to make Sekondi-Takoradi the Financial Services Hub for the region largely rests on such innovations from the private sector which also sits with government’s desire to empower people while also creating jobs.

Deputy Chief Executive Officer STCCI Benjamin Nii Kpani Addy encouraged businesses to join the “Chambers Market” to boost their sales and promote services.

“The platform guarantees safer transactions, cash backs and value for money. It also promotes favourable competition with other vendors as well as learn customer preference for product services and feedbacks.”

On how to be listed on the Chamber Market, he explained “you have to register on the website, validate your account, fill your project, apply to be a business and upload business information as well as upload product or services”.

The Chambers Market was developed with support from the Humburg Chamber of Commerce (HCK).
