Police on patrol on Tuesday, June 29 responded to distress calls that thieves have broken into the Melcom retail shop at Amasaman in the Greater Accra Region.
Upon seeing the police, the robbers tried escaping.
One of them, name given as Richard Essilfie, 22, jumped from the first floor of the shop to the ground in an audacious attempt to escape but was overpowered by the police.
His accomplices, however, escaped.
“Police are in pursuit of three accomplices who escaped arrest,” the police stated on Tuesday.
Investigations have already begun to arrest them.
