The Ghana Police Service by directives from the Ministry of Interior has deployed hundreds of police officers to the Upper West Region capital of Wa.

The officers arrived on Saturday morning.

Recent cases of kidnappings and mystery deaths have been recorded in the town, prompting action from the Service.

Youth on Friday, September 16, however, staged a protest on Wa’s streets to register their anger against the serial killings.

According to them, authorities seem not to care about the incidents.

They marched to the Wa Naa’s palace to express their anger.

In the evening, the irate youth torched some shops said to belong to some Nigerian businessmen, whom they suspect are behind the kidnappings and killings.

Calm has since been restored in the area and the police have begun investigations into the incident.

Already, nine persons have been reportedly kidnapped with four of them killed and parts of their bodies removed.

These mystery deaths have happened between 2021 and September this year, 3news.com gathers.
