The People’s National Convention (PNC) has scheduled Thursday, May 12 as day on which to hold a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting over recent happenings within the party, particularly the court ruling directing 2020 Presidential Candidate David Apasera and National Chairman Moses Danibaah back to the party.

The two were purportedly deposed from their roles by a similar NEC meeting.

A statement issued by General Secretary Janet Asana Nabla on Wednesday, May 4 said any member who deals with the two deposed leaders or attends any meeting they call “will be referred to the disciplinary committee for questioning”.

The statement also announced the suspension of the Volta Region Chairman, Cecil Rhodes Kwesi Dogbe, and his Bono East counterpart, Inusah Bauh.

They have both been referred to the Disciplinary Committee over “gross misconduct”.

“Their respective Vice Chairmen should act as chairmen with immediate effect,” the statement said.

“We are instructing our members from these regions to cease regarding the duo as chairmen until investigation is completed.”

Meanwhile, Mark Awusi, who issued a statement on Monday on behalf of the party, has been reported to the police for impersonation.

He had issued the statement as the National Youth Organiser.

“Gross insubordination is something the PNC frowns upon and will not tolerate.”
