Ghana’s former Deputy Ambassador to China and a New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Treasurer Hopeful, Dr. Charles Dwamena, has charged the youth and delegates of the Upper East Region to continue to have confidence in the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo-led government to secure a future of progress and prosperity.

He made these remarks on Sunday, October 3 when he interacted with scores of delegates at this year’s Annual Upper East Regional Delegates Conference which was held at the Bolgatanga GNAT Hall.

Amidst loud cheers and resounding welcome, Dr. China, as the former Diplomat is popularly called, was delighted to grace this year’s Conference which brought together Regional Executives, Constituency Executives, Polling Station Executives, Tescon representations, recognised NPP-affiliated groups and all well-meaning patriots.

The Political Financial Analyst and Diplomat shared his sterling political experience with the delegates and appealed to them to put their shoulders to the wheels as the Party works towards ‘Breaking the Eight-Year jinx’.

According to him, “…to break the eight, we need to build a stronger party that is financially sound; a party that will prioritize the welfare of its people through innovative programmes such as a Business Incubation Fund, a Human Resource Empowerment Program, a Political Mentorship Program, etc” .

He indicated that the successful implementation of such programmes will greatly empower party members and energize the base of the Party.

He said that the energy from a financially strong party, coupled with the enviable record of achievements of the President Nana Akufo-Addo administration, which is compelling and unprecedented even amidst the snares of Covid 19 in Ghana and across the world, would make it possible for the Party to break the eight.

Dr. China was of the firm conviction that God in Heaven consciously gave Ghana a fantastic personality like President Nana Akufo-Addo in such a time where the country needed leadership and ingenuity to better manage the Covid-19 pandemic, a task he said the president has executed well and that there is the need for all party members to fully support the President and all his appointees, particularly the new MMDCE nominees.

Other dignitaries present were the party’s General Secretary, John Boadu, National Youth Organiser Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, vice chairmen Omari Wadie and Rita Asobayire as well as Abdul Hanan, the CEO of the National Food Buffer Stock Company Limited.
