A 26-year-old man identified as Benard Boateng has been allegedly murdered at Aputuogua in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region.

According to the Assembly member for the area, Bright Sefa Boakye Yiadom, the lifeless body of the victim was found Monday morning with his hands tied to his back with a deep cut on his forehead.

He further told sit-in host of Akoma FM‘s morning show GhanAkoma on Tuesday, January 11 Sir John that “yesterday I had complaints from some young men that last Sunday a friend they hosted at their home left the house. They couldn’t hear wind of him until they saw his lifeless body within the area. So, I urged them to lodge a formal complaint at the police station for appropriate protocol to be followed.”

The Assembly member further noted that “as at now, the five young men have written their statement as they assist police with investigation”.

Although police are still investigating the issue, family believes their relative was hacked or lynched by some unscrupulous persons.

Sister of the victim Adwubi Boateng Maurina, recounting her last moments with the deceased in a sobbing voice, explained that “my brother came from Holland last month for the Christmas. He was supposed to have left the country on the 19th of January but now he’s no more”.

Mother of the deceased who also spoke explained that my “son was accompanied by some friends last Sunday to the house, later they all went out and told me he will return the next day and the next news I heard about him was his death. I really want the police to get to the bottom of matter to bring the perpetrators to book”.
