Mahama mourns with family of late First Lady at 1-wk service

Former President John Dramani Mahama on Friday joined well wishers, family and mourners at a one-week commemorative service for the late Mrs. Emily Akuffo.

The deceased was the wife of late former Head of State Lt. General Fred Akuffo, who led the Supreme Military Council between 1978 and 1979.

The one-week service was held at the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (Christ Church) at Akropong in the Eastern Region.

Accompanying the former President was former Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, National Youth Organiser George Opare Addo and a former High Commissioner Victor Smith.

Mrs Akuffo, popularly known as Sisi Ama Oduraa, died in her sleep on Friday, April 8.
