Former Black Stars coach James Kwesi Appiah has been appointed the coach of newly formed Kenpong Football Academy (KFA).

The appointment was made over the weekend.

Founder of KFA Kennedy Agyepong, a known businessman, expressed happiness to have the former Black Stars captain in his fold.

“We are proud and honoured to have you as our Head Coach and may God bless your good works with KFA,” he said.

This is the first job for Kwesi Appiah since parting company with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in 2020.

He became the first Ghanaian coach to qualify the Black Stars to the FIFA World Cup in 2014.

Before then, he had led Ghana’s Black Meteors to Gold at the 2011 All Africa Games in Mozambique.

Kwesi Appiah will be assisted by former Technical Director of the GFA Francis Oti Akenteng, who will also be the Director of Football.
