The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has confiscated unwholesome cartons of frozen chicken parts at Mbrom, close to Racecourse Market within the metropolis.

The operation was carried out by the KMA task force Friday.

A woman identified as Abiba and alleged to be transporting the 15 cartons, which were suspected to be rotten to Adankwame and Asuofia for commercial purposes, was arrested.

Speaking on Akoma FM‘s current affairs and political show GhanAkoma Monday, September 6, spokesperson for the Assembly Henrietta Aboagye explained that “the 30-year-old suspect led the police and environmental health officers to the Asafo Market to arrest a cold store operator who allegedly sold the items to her”.

The KMA PRO told host of the show Aduanaba Kofi Asante that the two suspects have been detained for further investigations.

She revealed that “the suspects further led the CID to the cold store and confiscated some additional rotten chicken parts”.

The suspects told the police the unwholesome chicken were bought at half of their original price.

Madam Henrietta Aboagye further cautioned the public to be on the lookout for such unwholesome scrupulous products on the market.
