The incumbent Member of Parliament for the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency, Adwoa Safo, has declared her readiness to support the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) elected candidate for the December 7 poll, Mike Oquaye Junior.

Mr Oquaye Junior beat Madam Safo by a landslide in the parliamentary primary held on January 27 with over 800 votes difference.

The overwhelming defeat to the three-term Member of Parliament for the area, engendered speculations that Madam Safo would contest the seat as an independent candidate.

However, in a press release issued on January 30, the Dome-Kwabenya MP assured the constituents that, those are just rumours.

While thanking them, she assured the people of Dome-Kwabenya that she awaits an opportunity to be reunited with Mike Oquaye Junior to do the needful as regards campaigning to retain the seat for the NPP.

From the depths of my heart, thank you Dome-Kwabenya – Adwoa Safo

“As a three-term Member of Parliament and a true party person, I am cognizant of the fundamental principles which underpin the Danquah-Dombo-Busia tradition for which internal competition and afterwards cooperation, remains the guiding light.

“For the next few months, I remain dedicated to working collaboratively with the leadership of the party in the Constituency in collectively pursuing goals to unite us for the task ahead in campaigning to maximize our votes for both Parliamentary and Presidential candidates and in Parliament, to execute Government business expeditiously,” she assured.

“…despite the setback and outcome of last Saturday’s parliamentary primaries in Dome-Kwabenya, I remain steadfast in my commitment to the shared values of the New Patriotic Party and our corporate quest to break the 8 with H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, come December 7,2024,” Adwoa Safo added.
