Former President John Dramani Mahama says he is not that kind of politician to make promises for votes.

“Me, I don’t promise,” he stated in Twi on Wednesday, April 12 when he met delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Osino in the Fanteakwa South Constituency of the Eastern Region.

“The only promise I make is about my knowledge, experience and hardwork to work for the people of Ghana if elected president [again],” he said to cheers from the party delegates.

He said that is the hallmark of the NDC, a party which talks less but does more action.

He told the partisan audience how their political opponents, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), only talks sweetly but are without any action, alluding to the ‘No Action, Talk Only’ mantra of former Minister of Trade and Industry Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen.

Mr Mahama, therefore, admonished electorates not to fall prey to the juicy promises of the NPP.

For him, it was a good omen for the Party to come to power for Ghanaians to appreciate the Congress the more.

He said 2024 will see the NDC coming back to continue its good works from where it left off in 2016.

Mr Mahama is in the Eastern Region on a three-day campaign tour ahead of next month’s presidential primaries of his party.

Though tipped to win, the former Minister, Vice President and President is facing a challenge from Dr Kwabena Duffuor, a former Central Bank Governor and Finance Minister, and Kojo Bonsu, the former mayor of Kumasi.
