Professional developer Felix Odartey Lamptey has launched his campaign ahead of the May 13 primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Weija-Gbawe Constituency.

The launch immediately followed the filing of his nomination forms at the party’s constituency office in Gbawe on Monday, March 20.

Addressing his teeming supporters, the former Weija-Gbawe Constituency Secretary said he is the sure candidate to deliver the goods for the NDC come 2024.

He said he knows every nook and cranny of the Constituency and will, thus, ensure that development trickles down if he is elected as their Member of Parliament.

“I am the only candidate who knows your branch and knows your polling station,” he said, adding: “I am the only candidate who has a relationship with the community.”

Mr Odartey Lamptey said the major consideration for the NDC come 2024 will be to elect a parliamentary candidate who can win over neutrals.

And he touts himself as that candidate.

“I am the only candidate who can get a ministerial appointment,” he vaunted amid loud cheers from his supporters.

Mr Odartey Lamptey, who describes himself as a grassroots person, says after the NDC primaries this year, he will begin a house-to-house campaign until June 2024, hoping to meet at least 70,000 constituents face-to-face.

He promised to contribute GH¢1,000 every month into the party’s constituency welfare fund and says he will continue this contribution to improve the lives of indigenes as he seeks to enter Parliament for the first time to make them proud.

The Weija-Gbawe Constituency is currently held by the New Patriotic Party’s Tina Naa Ayeley Mensah, who is likely to seek re-election.
