Economic Dialogue: Media General remains committed to national devt – COO

    Mr Winfred Afful, the Chief Operations Officer (COO) at Media General, has said that the media conglomerate is committed to offering its various platforms for discussions on national development.

    He said this in his opening remarks during the fourth edition of the Media General’s Economic dialogue series on Thursday April 1.

    He said “We remain committed for availing our platforms for conversations in the interest of national development. This has resulted in the dialogue.

    “We will leave here with very deep insights on the subject matter.”

    The event is themed: ‘Ghana’s Recovery Path in 2021 – Balancing Fiscal Consolidation With Growth Policies’.

    The event is taking place at the Executive Theatre of the leading media company in Ghana under strict Covid-19 protocols.

    Among the guests to be at the programme is the Secretary General of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), Wemkele Keabetswe Mene.

    He will be joined by Standard Chartered’s Head of Research in charge of Africa and Middle East Razia Khan and Ghana’s immediate past Finance Minister Seth Emmanuel Terkper.

    The others are Director General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) Michael Luguje and IMANI Africa Vice President Bright Simmons.

    The rest are Director of the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER) Professor Peter Quartey and Technical Advisor at the Ministry of Finance Dr Nii Noi Ashong.

    Renowned economist Kwame Pianim has urged these resource persons to be blunt in sharing their opinions at the forum.
