Former Ashanti Region Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Brogya Genfi has announced his intention to contest the Youth Organiser elections again in 2022.

Brogya Genfi lost to George Opare Addo at the 2018 congress after polling 396 votes against Mr Opare Addo’s 523. Wonder Madilo, the third candidate, garnered 74 votes.

He said the experience has rekindled in him a vibrancy that makes him the ideal candidate to lead the youth wing of the NDC.

“As I relive every moment with you on that occasion, I say with all conviction that this event remains a great experience that has further reinforced my resolve to lead a vibrant youth wing which for me still remains the missing jigsaw in the unstoppable victory of the NDC in 2024,” Mr Genfi said in a statement on Wednesday, October 27.

“While commending the contributions of the youth of our great party whose unflinching and unalloyed sacrifices largely propelled the party’s successes in the 2020 elections, it is tellingly clear that the selfless youth of the NDC are yearning for leadership.

“And I believe more than ever, that the NDC is in dire need of a more radical, fearless and experienced youth wing going into the 2024 Election.”

He mentioned some of his contributions since losing to Mr Opare Addo as serving on the 2020 Working Group on Youth, Employment and Sports, a group set-up by the former President and flagbearer of the NDC, John Dramani, to feed the 2020 NDC Manifesto Committee as well as serving as the Head of Operations of the National Campaign Team of the General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, a team which was tasked with the mandate to focus campaign in the nine Akan-speaking regions of Ghana, namely Bono, Western North, Oti, Ahafo, Central, Ashanti, Eastern, Western, and Bono East regions.

“I believe I possess the competence to lead what is expected and anticipated of an NDC Youth Wing for the next election in 2024.

“The assurance is that, we will have another opportunity next year to correct the wrongs of yesterday which is hurting us today. And I have no doubt whatsoever, that we shall not fail this time around.”
