The Secretary of the Asogli State Council, Stephen Tetteh, has written to apologise to the leadership of the Council and Kennedy Ohene Agyapong over his official invitation to the latter for this year’s Te Za (Yam Festival).

The Assin Central Member of Parliament honoured the invitation in his capacity as the Board Chairman of the Ghana National Gas Company Limited but his gifts were rejected by the Council.

He was also not allowed to see the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, Togbe Afede XIV.

However, a letter sighted by 3news.com confirmed the official invitation of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP.

In a later statement dated Monday, September 12, the Secretary took full responsibility for the “administrative lapse”.

He indicated that it was Ken Agyapong who requested an invitation but the leadership of the Asogli State Council disapproved of it.

This was because they found the firebrand MP as having made several “loose” utterances against Togbe Afede XIV.

Some of the utterances were made as far back as 2009 with the latest on November 13, 2018, as cited by the statement.

Despite being rejected together with his gifts, Ken Agyapong is reported to have waved to the gathering and got into his waiting vehicle to leave the durbar grounds.
