Akufo-Addo to address Ghanaians on Covid-19 tonight

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will again address the nation on the coronavirus pandemic tonight, Sunday, September 20.

The president is expected to reveal the current state of affairs as far as the fight against the virus is concerned.

The last time he addressed the nation, on Sunday, August 16, he announced the reopening of the Kotoka International Airport.

The president said it was safe to do so after measures were put in place at the KIA to ensure that cases are not imported into the country.

Meanwhile, two persons have become the latest casualties of the coronavirus disease in Ghana as the cumulative number of cases go past 46,000.

In the latest update released by the Ghana Health Service (GHS), 127 new cases including 3 from international travellers were recorded.

This takes the total number of cases, as of Thursday, September 17, to 46,004.

The deaths are currently 297 with the recoveries-cum-discharges 45,153. This leaves the active cases currently at 554 at the last count.
