AfCFTA is creating environment for young Africans to succeed – Wemkele

    The Secretary General of the African Continental Free Trade Area Secretariat (AfCFTA), Mr Wemkele Mene, has said in relation to the international youth day celebration that the AfCFTA is creating the enabling environment for African youths to thrive.

    He said the youth of the continent remain an asset to the continent and the secretariat, hence their resolved to assist them to succeed.

    “As we celebrate International Youth Day, I would like to reiterate the importance of our youth on the continent.

    “Through AfCFTA, we are creating an environment for young Africans to succeed #IYD #InternationalYouthDay #AfCFTA #Africa #youth #trade #Entrepreneurship #TheFuture,” he said in a tweet on Thursday August 12.

    International Youth Day is celebrated annually on 12 August to bring youth issues to the attention of the international community and to celebrate the potential of youth as active partners in the global society.

    The 2021 theme for the day is about transforming food systems.

    The theme, “Transforming Food Systems: Youth Innovation for Human and Planetary Health”, aims to highlight that the success of such a global effort will not be achieved without the meaningful participation of young people.
